Shahid Kapoor Is Nervous Ahead Of His Digital Debut; Actor Says ‘Success In Films Doesn't Guarantee Acceptance In Web World’
During his recent Instagram Live session with fans, Shahid Kapoor opened up about his highly awaited digital debut. Read on to know what he said.
After wooing the audience with his terrific performances in films, Shahid Kapoor is all set to take the digital world by storm. The Jab We Met star is making his web debut with The Family Man makers Raj and DK’s untitled upcoming series, which also features South beauty, Raashi Khanna, in the lead role. Recently, during an Instagram Live session, Shahid opened up about his digital debut and said he is very nervous as he feels that his success in the films doesn't guarantee acceptance in the web world.
Interacting with his fans on the occasion of his film Kabir Singh clocking two years, Shahid said, “I'm very nervous about making my digital debut because I really feel that actors who might have been liked and loved on the big screen, might or might not be appreciated on a digital platform.” Adding to this, the actor stated, “You can't just be okay if people like you for a couple of hours. They need to be interested in your character, connect with you and you need to hold their attention for 9-10 episodes. I don't think I'm experienced in that space. So it would be interesting to see how people react to me on that platform.”
He also mentioned that it will be interesting to see how people respond to his digital debut, whether they like him in that space, whether he will be able to do something different as opposed to what he does in a movie.
While he did not divulge details about his upcoming series, The 40-year-old actor teased his fans saying that people will get to see him doing something different
"I have loved Raj and DK's work for a while. I really enjoyed seeing The Family Man and I totally loved season two. The web series is very different from anything that I've ever done. It's going to be exciting. It's a quirky crime drama," Shahid said.
